Public Surveys
The Public survey option can be helpful if your organisation completes surveys/questionnaires/feedback forms with individuals who are not necessarily participants on your account. For example, this may be in the form of anonymous feedback forms from a large-scale event that your organisation ran, or your organisation is trying to gauge feedback on services that residents in the local community may be interested in.
Public surveys produce a generic URL link that can be sent out in various forms (Email, WhatsApp on your website etc.) for individuals to complete.
Note: As Public surveys are not linked to participant profiles the Upshot survey comparison tool cannot be used.
Creating a Public Survey
To create a public survey ensure you choose the survey type of Public.
Please refer to the Creating Surveys guide for more instructions around creating a survey or questionnaire.
Public Surveys give users the flexibility to include the standard Question Types but also Demographic Questions.
These Demographic Questions could be: Date of Birth, Gender, Disability, Ethnicity, Postcode
The options shown in terms of the questions, and the options within them are determined by your broader account settings for these particular fields. These are possible to amend via Admin > Data Display options.
Including these types of questions may be relevant in some instances for Public Surveys due to the fact the responses are not attached to a participant profile from Upshot and so no existing demographic detail on the respondent exists.
If Postcode is used, the download of completed responses will generate the LSOA IMD for any valid postcodes.
