Funding organisations

This guide relates to the Funding Organisations option available to System Admins under the Admin tab.

Under Admin > Funding Organisations , System Admins can add various funders to their account.

Then within a project, under the General tab they can specify the amount of funding provided by a certain funder.

This could merely be for reference, but this information can also be used in the Statistics Report.

The total value of all funders in relation to a project, will generate the Cost figure produced in the Statistics Report and the associated breakdown of averages.

Adding a Funder

By going to Admin > Funding Organisations , System Admins can add any new Funding Organisations to the list.

Note, this will only be funding organisations listed to provide the value of funding for a project as outlined above, and is not in relation to an organisation's wider 'outcomes', or if connected to a 'Facilitating organisation'.

Adding the funding amount to the project

Once the funders are listed, users with the Project Manager role can update the information around the value of funding in relation to a project.

This can be done by:

  • Going to the relevant Project
  • Clicking on the General tab
  • Under Finance clicking Add a Third-Party Organisation, this will add a new line under Organisation

  • Click on the text to select the relevant Funder
  • Specify the amount and any additional detail
  • Scroll to the bottom and click Update Project Configuration

Using the Statistics Report to generate 'Cost'

Once these cost of funding has been added, users can then use the Statistics Report to generate information around cost, and some averages in relation to the project.

Note: The 'cost' generated in the report is always the total amount of funding for the project overall, even if the filters chosen when running the report only choose to look at specific Activities.

The figures generated will include:

  • Cost per participant ('Cost' / 'Attendees (participants)' )
  • Cost per participant attendance ('Cost' / 'Attendances (participants)' )
  • Cost per hour delivered ('Cost' / 'Contact hours' )
  • Cost per session delivered ('Cost' / 'Sessions delivered' )
  • Cost per accreditation gained ('Cost' / 'Accreditations gained' )

See the below examples:

Project Overall

Project > Grouped by Activity (4 activities chosen)

Note: The 'cost' columns will only be produced when using the Statistics Report when reporting on 'Project', 'Activity Group', 'Activity Type' and 'Activity'.
